My first two hearing exams at Derby were great, Brandi was very helpful. Recently, I had a broken piece on my hearing aid and called to see if they could replace it and how much it would cost, I talked with Haylee. She told me and I scheduled an appointment. This is where things fell apart. There was a miscommunication about the cost, the new part is much louder than the previous part and it would take three months to get an appointment for an exam and have them reprogrammed if I wanted it to be covered by insurance. When I called to make an appointment sooner and pay out of pocket, I was told over the phone and in a voicemail that they had to check Brandi's schedule and someone would call me back. No one did, and when I followed up a week later, I was told they had called back, left a message and it was my fault for not following up. The date and time they gave me for the message matched the message telling me they would call me back. At that point I gave up.After paying for a repair, I have a hearing aid that doesn't work properly, and I have to find someone else to fix it.
I was very reluctant to get hearing aids although I knew that I needed them. I am so happy that I chose The Hearing Group because of Dr. Janet Cooley. She has been so helpful, knowledgeable and accessible. Dr. Cooley patiently examined me and advised me on what I needed in hearing aids. Today she walked me through everything I need to know to be successful with my hearing aids. She also encouraged me to contact her with any questions or problems concerning my hearing aids. I can recommend The Hearing Group without any reservations.
