A Hearing Test Is Easy

A Hearing Test Is Easy and Fast

Have you ever wondered how a hearing test works? It’s simple and easy, and we want to show you exactly what it looks like!

The Video Otoscopy:

Your Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist will take a look in your ear to make sure the ear canal and eardrum look healthy. Meanwhile, you’ll see what they’re seeing in your ear on the screen. Also, if you have a wax buildup they will advise you on cerumen management or the professional may discuss options to remove the excessive build-up.

The Hearing Test:

After that, the hearing professional will take you to the testing booth for the actual test! They will place inserts in your ears or use a headset, then most typically they will go to the outside of the booth and play a series of beeps. You will press the button in your hand for every beep you hear or in some cases you will raise your hand.

The whole battery of tests typically only takes 20-45 minutes, and then you can view the results. So, it is that easy!

In addition, we recommend everyone over the age of 50 get their hearing checked annually. As a result, you will receive a baseline test to keep track of your hearing. In the event that you start to decline in your hearing, you have something to compare to. Most importantly, if you do notice that you are not hearing as well, or if your friends and family start to point it out to you then that’s your clue. Find a hearing professional you trust.
